For the past 60 years Citizens Advice has been providing free, independent and confidential advice to island residents, working with local organisations to ensure that islanders are getting the help and advice that they need, whatever the issues that they are facing.

Paul Savill, CEO, said:

“We actively recruit volunteers and staff with first hand experience of mental health issues, so we never make judgements about what people are going through. We understand that every day issues, such as debt, evictions, and domestic abuse can lead to, and exacerbate, anxiety and depression.”

During COVID-19 restrictions Citizens Advice IW Advisers are answering the telephone and email enquiries. “Since March we have helped over 30% more islanders, giving them advice on a range of important issues,” said Paul, “and the data that we collate is used to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives. We are currently recruiting volunteers for a range of positions, so if you would like to help make a difference please contact us.”

If you need advice call the Adviceline on 03444 111 444 or use the contact form on the website www.citizensadviceiw.org.uk. Details of the volunteer roles available are also on the website.
