Throughout the Coronavirus lockdown, our Help Through Crisis team have been working flat out to try and help as many individuals and families as possible.

We know the last few years have been a really difficult time for many households on the Island, lots of whom have never asked for help before.

The Help Through Crisis project has been running since 2016 and has been boosted by generous donations The Daisy Rich Trust and others. This means we are able to help more people in need with food and essential costs during this time of crisis and beyond.

One client on the extremely vulnerable list has not had a bed to sleep in for over a year and was sleeping on his sofa cushions on the floor. Help Through Crisis bought him a bed. He was so grateful for the support, he said 'I never thought I could ask anyone for help and had got used to the broken nights of sleeping on the floor. I have now had a full week's sleep for the first time in as long as I can remember'.

Sam was sleeping in his car. Help Through Crisis referred him into the specialist Housing Team for help with housing and gave him supermarket vouchers so he could feed himself and his dog in the short term. He said ‘Thank you to all of you who went beyond the call of duty for me.'
