Citizens Advice Isle of Wight is one of the Island’s providers of the new Community Support Homelessness Prevention Services alongside The Isle of Wight Law Centre and Wight Dash.  Our element of the service will be delivered by 2.6 Homelessness Prevention Advisers and a 0.8 Money Adviser (managed by the Money Advice Manager). 

The postholder will work with a varied caseload of clients who are at risk of losing their homes, collaboratively identifying their needs, and providing advice on the full range of issues identified across different communication channels in a way that suits the client.  

The successful candidate will have experience in the Advice sector. They should also be able to carry out their own administration whilst holding down a busy caseload.  

Homelessness Prevention Advisers will be expected to have completed the Citizens Advice Adviser training and qualification within 3 months of taking up the post and other key training as required by the service. 

Responsible to: Service Delivery Manager 

Hours of work: 37 hours per week (including evenings and weekends on a client need basis and as agreed with your line manager) 

Based: Newport, with the ability to operate from locations across the Island including working from home. 

Salary: £18,739 FTE 

Contract: Fixed term to 31st March 2022 (extension subject to funding) 

Access to motor vehicle and ability to visit clients at Community venues and/or in their own home is required. 

A full clear DBS check will be required.
