It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of one of our Volunteer Advisers, Peter O’Malley. Peter has been advising with Citizens Advice Isle of Wight since May 2019 but had taken a break during the Covid pandemic due to ill health.

Peter had originally grown up in Shanklin but at 18 had moved away to pursue a career in Human Resources and customer services. His background handling HR queries and providing advice to line managers, employees and job applicants was valuable experience for his Adviser role.

Peter retired at 55 but still wanted to give something back to the island that was his home. He was particularly interested in helping the public with their financial issues and challenging the ease with which people can get short term finances.

Peter was a valued member of the Citizens Advice community and he will be much missed. Peter’s family has asked that any donations be made to Citizens Advice Isle of Wight to help us to continue with the work that Peter was doing. And we also dedicate this page to him.
