During the pandemic, Working Tax Credit (WTC) customers haven’t needed to notify Tax Credits about any temporary reductions to their working hours as a result of COVID-19. This was one of several measures introduced to help those facing uncertainty. This measure ended on the 30th September 2021.

If you don't intend to go back to working enough hours to be entitled to WTC by 25 November, you must tell Tax Credits as soon as possible.

After 25 November, if you are still not back to working enough hours to be entitled to WTC, you must tell Tax Credits within one month.   

Customers should continue to notify any permanent changes to their circumstances.

Any changes can be easily reported online on GOV.UK.
