How to report a scam email:

If you have received an email you're not quite sure about, forward it to [email protected]

you can forward as many emails as you want to this email address that you want. even if you are not sure that it is a scam they can check it for you. If you are forwarding the email because you think it might be a scam please do not click on any of the links that are in the email. 

You also do not need to forward any emails you think are scams if you have received them in your junk or spam folder.

Why you should report a scam email:

This will take you to a website that might download a virus to your computer, or steal passwords or other personal information. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has the power to investigate and remove scam email addresses and websites. It's free to report a suspicious email to us and it only takes a minute.

How to report a scam text:

Most phone providers are part of a scheme that allows customers to report suspicious text messages for free by forwarding them to 7726. If you forward a text to 7726, your provider can investigate the origin of the text and arrange to block or ban the sender, if it’s found to be malicious.

How to report a scam website:

Many scammers operate fake websites, which will download viruses to your computer, or are designed to steal passwords or other personal information.

you are able to send as many URLs as you want to them.

if you feel like you are sent a link that is suspicious do not click on it and do not input any personal data into the website.

How to report a scam advert:

Many cyber criminals seek to trick their victims using scam adverts. You might see these adverts hosted on websites, or while using a search engine or social media.

These adverts will often look genuine. They might try to hook you in using false celebrity endorsements, or by offering goods at a discount. But the aim is often to steal money from you, or sell you goods that bear no resemblance to what was advertised.
