I have been a volunteer for 15 years. Why do I do it? Because I like to help make a difference to people’s situations. No one comes to Citizens Advice without a problem that needs solving.

With the training Citizens Advice gives to Advisers there are very few problems that we are unable to improve the outcome of or reduce the anxiety felt by the clients.

My workload is never the same 2 days in a row. From assisting people to complete benefit and housing forms, claiming wages owed, to advising in marriage breakdowns or consumer rights.

What do I get out of Citizens Advice? Being useful in my old age, good friends and a feeling of satisfaction in helping others.
