Join Us Why volunteer Our highly trained volunteers come from all backgrounds and help with everything we do. We couldn't provide our free service without them. People who volunteer with us come from all walks of life: Retired volunteers believe it keeps them mentally active and nine in ten unemployed volunteers say it helps them move into employment or education. You can read some of the stories about this here We provide support and full training for our volunteers and pay their expenses. Did you know.... The General Advice training is recognised by many professional bodies, for instance Citizens Advice Immigration Training is recognised as Level 1 accreditation by the OISC (Office of Immigration Service Commissioner). Our volunteer General Advisers are trained to a high standard which is recognised by many professional bodies and forms a pathway for accredited qualifications. If you're training to be a solicitor and you train and volunteer as a local Citizens Advice adviser, you may be able to get up to six months off your solicitor training contract. See Solicitors Regulation Authority for more information. Our advice is frequently monitored and assessed for quality under the QAA standard. Our volunteer Advisers undergo a comprehensive training programme to ensure they meet the QAA standard.
