Help and Advice Legal Aid Our specialist Housing team are now able to provide Legal Aid funded assistance to residents on the Isle of Wight and in Portsmouth who have housing cases. We can assist and advise on a wide range of cases including: Homelessness applications Homelessness appeals Notices issued by your Landlord Court proceedings for possession and eviction Anti-social behaviour injunctions Disrepair issues and claims Mortgage possession and eviction cases The Legal Aid Agency requires us to carry out two tests to make sure people are eligible. Means test - about your financial circumstances Merits test - about whether your case meets the criteria which the Legal Aid Agency funds.
